National cabinet to consider charging travellers for hotel quarantine

State governments are considering making Australians returning from overseas pay for their own hotel quarantine after forking out millions of dollars for the 14-day stays.

Queensland is leading the push to charge travellers but the two biggest states, NSW and Victoria, insist they will continue picking up the bill on behalf of taxpayers.
