Couple separated after dash to see dying dad 'destroyed' by last-minute decision
A British couple separated for five months by Australian border closures say they have been left "devastated and destroyed" by a sudden a change of heart from the government that came too late. Michelle Tomlinson hasn't seen her husband Ashley since March, when he flew to Yorkshire, England, to say goodbye to his dying father. Australia announced it was closing its borders to all but citizens and permanent residents on March 19, just as Mr Tomlinson was rushing to be by his father's hospital bedside.
