Almost 150 Queensland youths charged with 'boasting' about crimes online

Queensland police have charged 144 youths in relation to "posting and boasting" online about crimes they've allegedly committed as officers crackdown on the social media trend.

Research from the Crime Statistics Agency last year found social media platforms that allowed teenagers to brag about crimes were contributing to increases in youth offending across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

Police in Queensland are attempting to counteract that, introducing a new digital intelligence team intent on stamping out crime.
