Brisbane City Council records 9,100 complaints about abandoned or hazardous vehicles

More than 9,000 complaints about abandoned vehicles, unsightly vehicles, hazardous vehicles and unregistered vehicles have been made over the past 14 months across Brisbane.

A Brisbane City Council spokeswoman said most of the 9,100 complaints came from the suburbs of Rocklea, Coorparoo, New Farm, Toowong and Moorooka.

The council has also removed 280 vehicles — including 19 trailers, 18 utility vehicles, 13 vans, six caravans/campervans and four trucks — since January 1, 2022.

The spokeswoman said it was "lawful to park a registered boat, trailer or caravan on a road, provided that the trailer is parked in accordance with the road rules and any parking signs or lines that apply to the particular location".
