Brisbane Council Election 2024 guide: Candidates, party promises, preference voting


As the Brisbane City Council elections draw near, political parties are engaging in a heated debate over preference deals, with campaigning now in full swing ahead of election day - March 16. Labor’s Tracey Price and the Greens Jonathan Sriranganathan will challenge Adrian Schrinner in his top spot as Brisbane’s Lord Mayor, with Labor and the Greens releasing a full list of candidates to fight for each of the 26 council wards. While no official deal has been announced, both the Greens and Labor have confirmed they will recommend preference orders to voters.
