Phase 1B rollout underway as 'workhorse' AstraZeneca vaccine approved to be locally produced
Australian GPs have begun administering the COVID-19 jab today.
It comes as the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) granted approval for the AstraZeneca vaccine to be manufactured in Australia after weeks of frustration over the slow rollout of imported doses.
Health Minister Greg Hunt said more than six million people will be eligible to receive the vaccine from today under phase 1B of the rollout.
