A Queensland police officer has been struck by a stolen car on Brisbane's southside this morning.

Queensland Police Service said the male officer was conducting speed checks on Orange Grove Road at Salisbury shortly before 6:30am when he attempted to intercept a car by walking onto the road.

The car was then driven directly at the officer.

He sustained arm and back injuries and was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
