Queenslanders are turning out in record numbers for COVID-19 tests. What happens to their swabs?
Thousands have queued for COVID-19 swabs during south-east Queensland's lockdown, breaking records on the number of tests conducted daily.
On Thursday 52,350 tests were carried out across the state, exceeding Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young's target of 50,000 daily tests for the second day running.
The rates increased from 34,718 on Tuesday to 51,479 on Wednesday.
